9Yin Installation Guide!

First things first!
Start by navigating your way to this website here and making your account, following the instructions in the picture I have provided.

Important to note as well – you do not need to use a phone number here. You can, but it is not necessary. Also not all providers will accept chinese texts.

Key things to mention
– Use an email address that is not associated with another version of the game.
+ This has been known to cause issues with registering in the past. Strictly speaking from experience.

– Don’t worry too much about registering a phone number right this moment. We will touch base on this later on in the guide.

NOTE
+ Some phone numbers we won’t receive a text message for the verification process. I speak on experience based upon my US phone number.

Now that you made your account, we can now download the official client from the website!

Head here and scroll down the page until you see this button!

Once you have finished downloading, you can extract the game to a folder of your choosing.

NOTE
+ Be sure to change the name of the folder to only have ENGLISH characters. Any pinyin text will cause issues with your system and won’t be able to read and find the necessary folder to execute the game.

Once your game has installed, now is the best time to get your VPN setup. This is a totally optional feature, but for players who’s ping fluctuates constantly from outside of Taiwan or near, this may be a better option for you.

+ A VPN will help you stabilize your connection to the game server. This helps most people who have fluctuating ping when playing 9Yin in Taiwan, or any game really.

The VPN I would recommend the most, is Mudfish! It’s a pay per use VPN. Basically $10 will last you several years if you are only playing 9Yin.

NOTE
+ Mudfish only is used when connecting to the game. Instead of an entire system VPN, it’s more like a VPN specifically for your program, which makes it waaaaay more cost efficient down the road. The site is in English, so I won’t go into much detail about how to download, setup an account and add credits (self-explanatory). However, I will show you how to add items and nodes.

– Go ahead and click on Add item in the top of the webpage (or drop-down menu at the top).

– Find Age of Wushu on the list of games. Select the server you will be playing on

– Click on Equip the Item near the bottom of the menu.
(This should add all the nodes and set everything up for you correctly.)

Once your item is equipped, all you have to do now is click the green “Connect button in the right side of the screen shown in the screen shot.
**Wait for the loading bar to hit 100%, and say that you’re Completed before you close the web browser**

You do not need the web browser open after the bar says completed.

Congratz for making it this far! We are almost done.

Now that you have your VPN installed, and running (If not do so now, it will make patching process faster)

go ahead and launch the game via the icon that has been placed on your desktop. This will pop up the server selection window.

NOTE
+ We are playing on the Formosa server, which houses the largest player base for this region of the game. Screenshot provided to show the character name. Don’t worry, you will be able to see English text soon in the patching section.

After you select your server, the game will begin the patching process and the bar at the very bottom of the launcher will load several times.

NOTE
+ Until your client says that you are up to date, you are still in the patching process. Do not close the launcher, or VPN. This may cause issues to your client later on.

Once your game has finished patching, click on the giant yellow button. It will show CN text, but it works all the same.

When you have loaded into the game, and have no issues, you may close the game completely, and apply the English patch!

NOTE
+ Reyvin has spent a lot of time to provide an English patch for this game. He has put in countless hours and sleepless nights to get patches and fixes out to the community. The least we can do is show him a bit of support by donating to him and his process. This will help speed up the translation process and help provide a great deal of accuracy to future patches!

Now the simplest step in the entire process, in my opinion of course.

+ PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS ACCORDINGLY, SKIPPING ANY PREVIOUS STEPS WILL RESULT IN AN ISSUE WE CANNOT IDENTIFY ACCURATELY.

An update to the English patch can always be found in our Discord Server, so please be sure to join us and converse, ask for help, request a duel, or stream yourself playing a game of your choosing! We welcome all players from all regions and servers.

Once you have downloaded the patch provided by Reyvin, extract it.
You will need to RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR.
It is a hefty file, so dont be alarmed if your window freezes, nothing it wrong, its just loading 2gb of compressed data and getting ready to unpack.

NOTE
+ You may get a warning after launching the patch file, we all assure you that this is a safe file. Reyvin created it, but it is not acknowledged by Microsoft Defender. Proceed to run anyway.

Follow the on-screen instructions and the README provided in the folder closely and carefully in order to patch your client correctly.

+ Reyvin’s website Yiuzen, is the home base for the patch. Any updates will be posted there, or the Discord!
